1. Where is 〇〇? :
〇〇はどこですか?
〇〇wa doko desuka?
*Please put the word that you want to ask in 〇〇.
2. Do you know where 〇〇 is? :
〇〇がどこにあるか知っていますか?
〇〇ga dokoniaruka shitte imasuka?
3. Could you tell me where 〇〇 is? :
〇〇がどこにあるか教えていただけますか?
〇〇ga dokoniaruka oshiete itadakemasuka?
(It’s more polite)
*Could you do something is translated into “していただけますか(shite itadakemasuka). This is a respectful expression and very often used daily, especially to people you first met, older people, or on business.

to tell: 言う(いう) iu/ 伝える(つたえる) tutaeru

Where is Tokyo station? :
東京駅(とうきょうえき)はどこですか?
tokyo-eki wa doko desuka?
Where is ginza-line? :
銀座線(ぎんざせん)はどこですか?
ginza-sen wa doko desuka?
[At an office]
Could you tell me where the meeting room is? :
会議室(かいぎしつ)がどこにあるか教えていただけますか?
kaigishitsu ga dokoni aruka oshiete itadakemasuka?
Sorry, I don’t know. :
すみません、分かりません。
sumimasen, wakarimasen.
Do you know where a restroom is? :
トイレがどこにあるか知っていますか?
toire ga dokoni aruka shitte imasuka?
There is a restroom over there. :
トイレはあちらにあります。
toire wa achira ni arimasu.

over there: あそこ asoko (It’s casual), あちら achira (It’s polite)
